Clean water alone does not prevent illnesses and death.
The leading cause of child mortality in Malawi is due to water and sanitation-related diseases, including cholera
and malaria. These deaths can be prevented through cost-effective measures.
CPAR’s WASH for Life project aims to reduce water related illnesses and deaths in the remote districts of
Malawi. In partnership with UNICEF, this project will improve existing sanitation facilities and, where possible, construct new facilities where none are currently available, and promote knowledge and education on safe hygiene
practices in schools and communities.
