YWCA Edmonton serves women and families who are at critical turning points in their lives through three main program areas:

Preventing family violence and increasing safety for women and their families
Empowering young women
Providing the tools that support families to thrive

YWCA Edmonton has been serving women and their families in our community for more than 100 Years. However, there are many women and families who are falling through the cracks. We're aiming to raise funds in 2011 to help meet the increasing demands for our services.

All funds raised from the Walk A Mile in Her Shoes directly support the YWCA Edmonton's "Turning Point" violence prevention programs for women and their families. The event makes it possible for us to provide:

Counselling Services to women and their families,
GirlSpace - guiding young teen girls who are making critical choices every day, increasing their peer support and resiliency, and
Lakeside Haven - where we provide family violence healing programs for women and children.

Our Turning Point programs help women and families navigate critical points in their lives - giving them the tools, resources, and support to move through crisis and make lasting change.
